Devas commenced discussions and negotiations in 2003 and consequently entered into a definitive Agreement for Space Segment Lease in January 2005 with Antrix Corporation Limited, a wholly owned Government of India Company under the administrative control of the Department of Space (DOS), Government of India.
As the commercial and marketing arm of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Antrix is engaged in providing Space products and services to international customers worldwide. Antrix also leads the promotion and commercial exploitation of space products, technical consultancy services and transfer of technologies developed by ISRO. Antrix provides an end-to-end solution for complex spacecraft, space related service including transponder lease, and launch services through operational launch vehicles (PSLV and GSLV), among other products and
services. Its vision is to emerge as a globally significant Company fully utilizing the strengths of ISRO and other Indian entities in the field of Space.
The Antrix and Devas Agreement is for a dedicated portion of leased transponder capacity on GSAT-6 and GSAT-6A, with specifications that meet Devas’ system configuration as part of the integrated satellite network Devas is deploying.  The Devas system operates in the capacity provided on the ISRO/DOS satellites operating in the 2.5-2.69 GHz frequency band covering India. The satellites are built, launched, and controlled by ISRO/DOS.
